João Pedro Medina Monteiro earned his Master's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Coimbra in 2018. He completed with success his doctoral thesis in Territorial Planning at the same university (2024). He is invited Assistant Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Coimbra and ESTGOH. He teaches courses such as Engineering Systems, Planning of Public Facilities, Infrastructure Projects Evaluation and Management, and Decision Support Methods in Urban Systems. Furthermore, he serves as a Tutor Professor (Hydrology) at the Open University.
He has published articles in esteemed international journals (Scopus/WoS) such as: Environment and Planning B: Urban Analytics and City Science, Land, International Journal of Geo-Information, Sustainability, Municipal Engineering (Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers), Engineering Sustainability (Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers). He has also acted a Peer-reviewer for internatioin scientific journals (Scopus/WoS). He is a founding member and President of the General Assembly of the Reabilita Coimbra Association.
