3.2.2. Center for Sustainable Infrastructure Systems


The Center for Sustainable Infrastructure Systems (CSIS) at the University of Colorado Denver is a multi- 

disciplinary center anchored in the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences and partnered with the 
School of Public Affairs. The work at CSIS is outcomes and metrics driven and is nationally and inter-natio- 

nally recognized. CSIS faculty, students and projects have been featured in The New York Times, Colorado 

Public Radio and National Public Radio, and in numerous top-tier scientific journals. CSIS is supported by 

grants and contracts from local, state and federal governments and multi-national corporations. To date, CSIS 

has partnered with more than 20 cities in Colorado to conduct sustainability baseline assessments and deve- 
lop sustainable infrastructure plans, using tools developed at CSIS.



 





























Mission


The mission of CSIS is the design, analysis, and rapid diffusion of sustainable urban infrastructures of the fu- 

ture by integrating technologies with social actors, i.e., the general public, businesses and policy actors.
